About
What we Believe
We believe in the inspiration and authority of the infallible Word of God which is the complete revelation of His Will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
We believe Jesus Christ as true God and perfect man, offered Himself as a sinless, substitutionary sacrifice for a lost human race and was physically resurrected from the dead to show that His redeeming work was perfectly accomplished.
We believe that the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity is God’s agent today in glorifying Christ, convicting unbelievers, producing new life and permanently indwelling believers and transforming them into the image of Jesus Christ.
We believe that man was originally created by God in His image yet rebelled against Him, resulting in a state of spiritual separation from God.
We believe that salvation (eternal life with God) is entirely a free gift of God’s grace, acquired through personal trust in Christ’s redemptive work, and that it becomes an eternal possession of all who are truly born again by the Holy Spirit through faith.
We believe that the church is a universal organism composed of all who are united by faith to Christ and in its local, organized expression, is God’s primary means of accomplishing His purposes in the world today.
We believe God has revealed in His Word that the future will entail a pretribulational and premillennial pattern of events as it embraces God’s purposes for the Church, Israel, and the nations.
Our Values
In pursuing our purpose at EFBC, we will follow a path defined by core values. How we get there is just as important to God as that we get there! We have identified ten core values at EFBC which we believe God has put at the heart of our ministry. We will adhere to these values without compromise.
Bible Centered - We believe that the Bible is God’s living, powerful, relevant, active word and that we can trust it, believe it, and apply it with the confidence that in so doing, we will be following God’s best for our lives. (Romans 12:7; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:23-25)
Worship Focused - We believe that God created us in His own image, thus uniquely equipping us for a vital relationship with Him which is ultimately expressed as we worship Him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:19-24)
Prayer Dependent - We believe that God has invited us into a dynamic relationship with Himself in which we experience His power and direction for life through the consistent, prevailing, and believing practice of prayer. (Matthew 6:5-14; 7:7-12)
Grace Extending - We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s pure grace which comes to us undeserved and free. As God receives and sustains us by grace, so should we reflect the spirit and acceptance of grace to all people. (Phillipians 2:1-11; Ephesians 1:3-14)
Maturity Building - We believe that salvation is but the first step on the road to spiritual maturity to which God calls His people, and that the church is responsible to help Christians become more and more like Jesus Christ. (Ephrata 4:25-26, 32; Hebrews 12:1; Phillipians 1:6)
People Empowering - We believe that God has graced believers with powerful spiritual gifts which uniquely fit them for effective service to Christ and the church, whose responsibility it is to empower people in the use of those gifts. (I Corinthians 12, 14; Romans 12; Ephesians 4; Psalms 133:1)
Needs Meeting - We believe that rendering encouragement, assistance, support and love is the duty of Christians as they live in spiritual community with one another under Christ’s Lordship. (I Corinthians 13; Nehemiah 3; Luke 10:1; John 13:34-34)
Outreach Oriented - We believe that lost people matter to God, and therefore our responsibility as a church is to reach out to them in love with the hope of the gospel. (Luke 5:30-32; Luke 15; Matthew 18:14)
Culturally Relevant - We believe that we are called to communicate the good news of the love of God to our generation, and that we do this most effectively by using forms and styles familiar to the culture. (1 Corinthians 9:19-23)
Globally Concerned - We believe that the gospel of salvation through Christ is for the whole world, and that the church cannot rest until the whole world has heard the good news. (Matthew 28:18-20)
In the pursuit of God’s purpose for His people and in accord with the core values outlined above, EFBC invites you to join us as we engage our community and world for the cause of Christ.

The Purpose of Life
The meaningless, frustrated, unhappy lives of many people indicate that a real purpose for living is lacking. Is life simply the pursuit of self-satisfaction? What is the answer?
Man, by his own choice, disobeyed God and fellowship was broken. The Bible says all have sinned and death results from sin (Romans 3:23 and 6:23).
Jesus Christ paid the penalty for man’s sin and became the only bridge by which man could come into fellowship with God (John 14:6 and Romans 5:8).
You must personally appropriate what Christ did for you by receiving Him by faith (John 1:12).
When you trust Christ to be your personal Savior, He will forgive your sins and come into your life (1 John 5:11-13).
If you have never made this decision, why not do so right now? Please let us know; we would love to help you grow in the Christian life. Christ is the real purpose for living!
